Sussex Street, Ballarat
This was a neglected 1930's bungalow, where virtually nothing of the original home could be salvaged. Due to heritage overlay requirements the original facade remains, but internally the home has been stripped and rebuilt, blending the old with a new and contemporary extension. Highlight windows, brushbox flooring and an integrated stair/entertainment unit have created an unique and light filled home.
Situated in central Ballarat, the existing home was transformed to contain bedrooms, bathrooms and formal lounge room. In keeping with the style of this Californian Bungalow, 11 foot ceilings, double hung windows and custom splade skirting were incorporated. New timber floors flow seamlessly through to the kitchen, family and meals which opens onto the outdoor entertaining space.
